Please help (totally freaked out) re: Dr changing how many weeks you are???
Has anyone's doctor told them they are actually less or more weeks far along?? I'm very early but because of some medical issues have gone to the doctor early. They did a sono but said it looks like I'm a week behind where I think I am - - i.e., based on my LMP I'm 5 weeks but based on sono I'm only about 4 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else either early or later on in your pregnancy??? I'm beyond freaked out right now and hoping nothing is wrong.

Re: Please help (totally freaked out) re: Dr changing how many weeks you are???
When I first got pregnant, we all thought I was 2 weeks ahead of what I actually was based on my LMP. Turns out, I must've ovulated late because when I went for what I thought was my 8 week sono, they determined I was only about 6 weeks based on the size of the baby.
I wouldn't be too concerned... ask your Dr. why he thinks you are measuring earlier than where you LMP would put you.

This didn't happen to me but keep in mind even if your dates are right you can just have a late implanter. Easier said then done but I would just try and stay calm. I don't think they can really tell much that early in the game

Yep, I measured a week behind what I thought at my first visit same as you (thought I was 6 weeks, dr. said I was 5 weeks), and now I am 31 weeks and doing great, so have no fear.
Like the others said, you might have a longer cycle or implanted late.
i wouldn't worry.

Yes, my dr. chaned my date by a week. Based on my Sono's I was 4w 1dat me firsy OB visit, but based on when I should have conceived they Listed me at 5w 1d. The sono tech kept telling me to go by the baby's size and the Dr.'s kept changing my date by a week. Long story short they stuck with the earlier date and moved my due date up a week.

Happened to me too. I went thinking I was 6 weeks along and she said I was measuring more like 5 weeks. Nothing to worry about. Mr Dr told me my due date would change alot. Originally my EDD was 1/14 then they changed it to 1/22 but I use 1/18 because I know when I conceived

Re: Please help (totally freaked out) re: Dr changing how many weeks you are???
According to my LMP, I was "supposedly" 12 w 1 day at my first OB appointment (I knew I wasn't because I had a negative BT at day 37 that cycle).
At my first appointment, the sono read 12w1d but the doctor said I was exactly 8 weeks based on the measurements. I wasn't surprised at all since I had the neg BT.
I kinda wish I was further along simply because I'm so darn sick of the m/s but as long as the baby is healthy, I figure he or she will grow as long as needed.
I wouldn't worry about it at all!

Do you know when you ovulated? I don't ovulate until Day 19/20. So going by LMP for me makes me seem a week ahead of where I actually am.

Not sure because I didn't temp but my best guess it somewhere between CD 15-19 just based on EWCM and the cramping I was feeling

Re: Please help (totally freaked out) re: Dr changing how many weeks you are???
I got pregnant the month after I went off the pill. I figured I had ovulated late, but wasn't sure. When I had my first sono, I was 8 weeks based on my LMP, but only measured 7 weeks. The doctor pushed my EDD back 1 week. At my later sonos, I measured a week ahead, but my EDD remained the same. The earliest sonos are supposedly the most accurate measurements for determining gestational age. I wouldn't worry. You could have ovulated late, had a late implanter, etc. The tech also told me that the measurements have margin of error of +/- 3 days.

When i thought I was 5 weeks...they couldnt' see anything... the tech was like.. ummm maybe 3 weeks? But then I went back over a week later and everything seemed to fall into the right time frame that I originally thought.

Re: Please help (totally freaked out) re: Dr changing how many weeks you are???
When I was pregnant with , my due date based on the sono was 6 days behind the LMP due date. I was supposed to be 6 weeks at my sono, but I was probably really 5 & we barely saw anything. Every sono thereafter always measured a few days to a week behind my LMP date. We stuck with the LMP due date, but I wasn't thrilled with that at the end bc it meant pressure to induce earlier.
With , I was TTC & I knew exactly when I ovulated. My due date should've been 4/2. The sono dated me as 3/31 & they changed my due date when I was 11 weeks along because of that. It was only a couple days though.
