Happy Extubation Day! All of Lila's cpap trials went well and the plan is to extubate her this morning! The attending dr is cautiously optimistic and our night nurse said he thinks she'll do great! There's always a chance she doesn't tolerate it and will need to be re-intubated but we're hoping for the best. I can't wait to hold her!!!

She's extubated and doing great! Poor baby was crying but she has no voice from the tube so it was such a sad silent cry. But I got to hold her for about 40 minutes before I had to let DH have a turn lol. She's come such a long way since last week. Now we just need to get through the next hurdle which is another eeg possibly tomorrow.

They extubated her yesterday, stopped her feeding tube, and 2 of 3 sedation meds. We have been dealing with withdrawal. She went on a high flow vent then this morning she went on a cpap. I was finally able to give her bottles of pedialite. We hope to see an end to this nightmare soon. Thank you for asking.
