It was ignorant. Not an opinion, more of a fact. Like Beth said, those two resources are key for getting a job and again, no one knows if the PC is hers. I'm done arguing with you, the thread doesn't need your negativity.

I do not think it is a matter of not agreeing...it is a matter of kicking someone when they are down...she needs help, some will choose to help, some won't...but let's stop making assumptions about her situation based on one post on CL

She just lost her job and is asking for donations of cake, clothes, toys, etc so that she can make her DD birthday special for her. She is wearing size 12 month clothes, but currently squeezing her into 9 months because she can't afford new clothes.
Pretty much the gist of it.

She didn't..I did email her to ask for her DD's name to send a card also, but I haevn't heard back from her yet. I told her I have several "friends" that want to send stuff too

i dont know if its for real, but if it were me posting that,i would sell my computer to buy what my child needs..i wouldnt post an ad,i would sell my pc..
she gave her number, and you can access the internet for free at the library. I used to do that....

This lady could be legit but I think Robin was talking from a bad experience.

I went out to dinner for my  so I'm sorry I didn't respond since I started the post.

Reading her post gave me a lump in my throat. I honestly don't think it was made up. It sounded like a mother who loves her daughter more than anything needs help, that is how I am taking it...
If she had asked for cash donations I'd be skeptical. This sounded sincere and there are many many people out there like this woman going through the same heartache. It's sad and makes me really count my blessings. We are not having the easiest time financially either, but I still feel blessed...
