i have to go against the pack and say i *hate* my Dyson... its heavy, but i dont even use it... dh uses it and he has to revacuum over areas- and no we dont have dogs/cats that there is alot to vacuum even....
The Kenmore Progessive is rated near the top with Consumer reports, and alot of people i know are happy with their Oreck

we have a Dyson and an Electrolux and I HATE the Dyson!! its heavy,comberson and doesnt do the job that the Electrolux does. I hate having to empty the canister, I always had dust fly around.
Dyson...not worth the hype...
