Please share your experiences with Honda dealerships
DH and I are finally buying a new car, and putting my old 95 Accord into semi-retirement by making it a train station car for DH. It has been in the shop way too much lately.
We are leaning toward buying a Honda Civic. Please share positive and negative experiences that you've had at Honda dealerships in Nassau/Western Suffolk. Thanks!

we got a great deal on a civic from Nardy in Smithtown. They were very negotiable (we paid under invoice) and easy to deal with.

Honda dealers are not the greatest but the cars are excellent.
I would be more concerned with the service.
None of the dealers I went to this time around gave me warm and fuzzies.

we just went to Hondacity.. in Levittown..
the cars are GREAT!!
but we were NOT impressed with this particular dealership.. we waited for a half hour before someone finally came up to us.. i should have left before then, but i really wanted to see what they were going to offer.

We bough a 2005 honda in 2005 from huntington honda.
experience: not so great. twice we tried to pick up the car and the back bumper was damaged with dings dents and scratches. the customer service stunk there.
I leased on 08 Accord back in April from Nardy, and had the best experience. I had bruce as my salesman, and he was so nice. not pushy at all! and he even took 2 hours on the day of pick-up to go everything with me, I had trouble learning the blue tooth and navigation, and he really taught me everything i needed. (ps his shift ended and hour into it, and he still stayed)
Nardy is in smithtown.

I got my Honda CRV from Levittown. (the "certified pre-owned" section, not the main showroom).
I always bring it there for maintenance. Never a problem.

MIL used Honda City in Levittown and had no issues with her Accord purchase. DH and I went with her and everyone was pleasant.

I bought my Civic from Huntington Honda in December. The sales experience was good- not pushy and the customer service was fine. The service/repairs department, however, stinks. I use my own mechanic whenever possible.

just leased my Odyssey from Huntington Honda......the salesman we had was "new" and had to keep checking about the price like 100 times so finally when he tried to get me to get a green minivan with olive green leather I got up to leave and the manager came over and asked what was up and DH threw that salesman under the bus and we got a great price for the color we wanted

I doubt you'd go all the way out to Riverhead, they suck arse there.
I know lots of people with civic's, everyone I know loves theirs. My friend always said huntington honda was the best.

We also did not have any issue with Atlantic Honda. They gave us a price at invoice right out of the box, they were quick and never pressured us.
Went for the first free maintenance service once so far, and no problems on that end either.

Believe it or not, we bought our CR-V in the Bronx and had a terrific experience...I go to Honda City (a new facility) for the service and they are actually very good (don't ask-minor issues, but since the car is still new, wanted them to verify). It was a schlep, but worth it, IMO.
