PLEASE tell me this is a phase
Maddie. Waking up in the middle of the night. SCREAMING. The type of screaming that I USED to equate with someone having their toenails ripped out.
Three times this week. One time, we actually sat and watched her WRITHING around on the floor in the midst of a temper tantrum (she didn't want to be held, so I put her down). I swear, it was like watching a scene from The Excorcist.
Last night- she cried for a bit when DH picked her up, but then started chattering and playing. The screaming started every time we'd try to put her in her bed. I swear, I thought she's take the crib apart with all the shaking, kicking.
I'd like to add- she has NO problem going down for bed at all.

Re: PLEASE tell me this is a phase
Do you think she is afraid of the dark? Christopher is (we think) we had to get a nightlight and that has helped A LOT!

Could it be night terrors/nightmares?

Re: PLEASE tell me this is a phase
my guess is a bad dream or the only time Jack has screamed like that was when the 2 year molars were cutting

Re: PLEASE tell me this is a phase
It might be her 2 year molars. Hope everyone gets better sleep soon!
I'll say it's a phase because there is ALWAYS a different phase going on of some sort in my house!

Re: PLEASE tell me this is a phase
This is going to sound crazy, but it could be her adenoids (sp?).
A coworker of mine was experiencing the same thing with her daughter and after doctor after doctor, she took her to the ENT and it turns out she was suffering from sleep apena because of her adenoids and it was producing the night terrors.
Ask your ped about it.
