And I did hear them talking about it on z100 and actually was pretty ****** that people called colored lights tacky give me a beak

I think my favorite is white, red and green and gold.(omitting out the pink, and blue, orange)

I don't see what's so tacky about colored lights...

I myself use white lights but I would never call colored lights tacky... and I wouldn't be opposed to using colored lights if that's what DH or DC wanted!

It doesn't matter to me how other people choose to decorate their tree or their home. Christmas lights are meant to be fun and festive.

i bought my tree with white lights. idk why I wish I bought color. we have been adding color to the tree-its so bright now.

I have 1/2 white lights and 1/2 LED white lights (they are almost so white they have a blue-ish tint).

I looooove them!



I don't see anything wrong with different colored lights...they aren't tacky at all and anyone who calls them that...is TACKY!

I am a white only girl... but when by our pre-lit tree they only had colored lights left, and it was a Target special for a steal...

So colored it is!

When driving around - it's the colored lights that get my attention. same goes for holiday parties - much rather go to a fun one

we have white icicle lights outside (gasp!), white lights in our bushes, and then blue/white lights intertwined with green garland framing our doorway. We decorate for xmas and hannukuh so try to represent both.

our tree usually has white lights also but this year we ran out of lights so its got a strand of colored mixed in as well. I wasn't sure how it would look, but it actually looks pretty goods to have a few colored lights mixed in
We also have an area inside decorated with solid blue and blue and white lights.

decorating is a personal preference.. just because i do something one way doesn't mean its tacky or wrong, its just the way my family chooses

people get their panties in such a twist over nothing sometimes!

I love to mix them! If I had to choose only one, I'd go for the colored lights.

We have white with our tree, but at this point, either are fine on the tree with me.

Outside we had white for years, and I have to admit, I used to be a white light snob--anything else was tacky to me. But now I have a 3 year old who LOVES looking at lights, and the color seems much more celebratory to me, so I prefer colored outside. Plus, we even have plastic snowpeople and a blow-up thing. Who knows what's next? Maybe icicle lights?

I only like the white lights or the multi color lights.

I do not like the strings off all red or all green or all blue.

And, I don't light mixing-I.e. if we have color lights on the house, we have to have color lights on the bushes-not a strand of white lights on one bush and a strand of color light on another bush.

For me-it's about consistency. We have white lights on the house and white lights on the garland going up the stairs.

In the family room-which is where out tree and fireplace are-the tree is prelit with while and multicolor-you can put either on or both on.

We have garland on the first place-it it prelit with white lights. I threaded a strand of color light on it. When the tree is all white, the garland is too. When the tree has the white lights and the color lights, so does the garland.

The kid in me loves the multi color lights-but I do like the charm of the white lights.

I grew up with and will continue when we have a house this: White lights on the fancy tree in the LR and colored lights on the smaller more playful tree. I want my kids to have a tree to decorate and that will have colored lights.

I love white lights around the windows and the bushes.

I picked other. I have white LED mixed with regular white and then then colored LED.

I am sure I drive my SIL nuts and that might be partly why I do it. She is soooo particular... never mix white and colored. use the same size lights.. no iceicle lights... booo..

My DH is not as strict as her but, he can get bad. I have to lock him outside until he puts up all the lights that I want!

I 100% prefer white lights, especially on my tree. However, I went against my better judgement this year when we needed a new tree and bought a prelit one with color lights. I am so mad at myself. I hate the way it looks The only plus is that my 4 yo loves it. I guess if I hate it that much for next year I can string white lights on it.
