Last year Lucas was only 5 months so we didn't get the shot....he was fine last year with out but DH and I made sure to get one.
This year he already got #1 and will go back in 2 weeks for #2. I get my shot this week and DH is trying to figure out when he can get one...if his new company offers them.

I have seen what happens to young kids who get the flu and I want to try to protect DD as much as possible. I understand it doesn't cover every strain etc but if it protects from any it is better than nothing. My ped only carries the thimerisol free version.
Same here. DH got a really bad case of the flu last March. It was awful. I would hate if DD got sick like he did. It would be so much worse in a toddler. I can't even imagine. We travel by plane alot too, so I feel she's exposed to alot there.

DS got the first last month and next week gets the second.
He's in daycare so I thought it was a no brainer......and I would feel horrible if he got the flu, which is very dangerous for little tykes....

DD will definitely get it since I am pregnant and due in January. She got it last year too.
DH and I will be getting it as well - he just doesn't know it yet

I didn't have my kids get one until they were in school. My son got his first last year at age 3 and my DD got hers too... They will get them again too next month at thier well visit.

jeez.. 
I have never had the flu shot since before i was 6. I have also never had a full flu. Doc tells me I shouldnt take it because it will probably make me sick to the flu easier..
Hubby doesnt get the flu shot either..
We are undecided on Arianna..  really rather NOT give it to her.. My opinion is there are way too many vaccinations in such a short time period.. juggling those to be spread out a lil AND adding the flu shot seems insane.  I just don't know.

DD just had her 6 month appointment and the doctor didn't mention the flu shot.
She is indoors and watched by me, DH and our moms, so she's not out in public very much.

what state is this?? I never heard it for NY, My boys daycare and school told me it was NOT required.

yes...he just got it at his 6 months well visit.
We travel a lot..he actually just went on his 2nd trip on a plane, this time with my mother to Florida.
On a separate note...I miss my baby...i slept with his blanket.

no way!!! its based on the strain from the year before-they are hardly ever on target-thats coming from a top pediatricina at good sam last year- and not with the ingredients I am injecting them with.

My DD#1 (she's 4) got it - she actually got the spray that goes up the nose...
DD#2 will be 6 months in January...if it is still flu season at the point, I will get it for her as well.

DD#1 will definitely get it. I'm not sure yet about DD#2. She's behind on shots as it is and she needs 2 doses of the flu shot since it would be her first...so we'll see...

I know that it is required in NJ, not sure which state that poster was referring to though. All kids from 6-59 months must get it before January.
