Re: Poll- Will/Did your child get the flu shot?
Both DH and myself got one last year, but DD was too young.
This year she gets it. So will we.

Rylan just got it at his 6 month visit. We're flying to florida at the end of the month so I thought it was the right thing to do.

Re: Poll- Will/Did your child get the flu shot?
DD is 3 and has not gotten it. I was undecided but at her appointment today he let me know they have the preservative free this year so she got her 1st dose today. The only reason being is that we will have a newborn in November and she is in preschool so that really raises the odds of her picking it up and I dealt with her having the flu when she was 4 months old, don't want to go through that again with this baby.

I didn't. My own Dr. told me he wouldn't get it for his children so I decided not to.

Jacob can't get the flu shot because he is allergic to eggs.

Re: Poll- Will/Did your child get the flu shot?
The 3 of us are getting it and I make no apologies for it. I get the actual flu every year I don't get the shot like clock work... I can set my watch to it. When I've had the shot (most years) I get minimal reaction (injection site soreness is my biggest complaint). DH and I are in and out of doctor offices all day and DD is around other kids all day - regardless I believe in prevention. That's just my personal belief. Having the flu s*cks, and when I've gotten it I've been down for about 2 weeks and overall ill for quite a while... last time I had mild symptoms after the "eye of the storm" passed for about 3 months. I was really sick, high fever, etc while in the midst of it. Wouldn't want my infant to get that... if it offers protection against even one strand I'm all for it. Again personal belief - not trying to be a sh*t starter, but if some can opt not to get it, then some of us should be able to argue in support of it.

Re: Poll- Will/Did your child get the flu shot?
I debated this for awhile and finally decided to have my DS get it. My DH is a teacher and brings home many germs. Also, I am expecting baby #2 in a week.
