Pooping issues in a 6 month old
We have DD on solids and she has been really straining to poop the past three days. When she does, it is very dry and little and she is miserable.
What can I do for her? Should I call her GI tomorrow?

Rice, oatmeal, and peas all make Luca poop these hard balls He would turn BRIGHT red when he was pushing, omg it was so sad. The ped said he doesn't need rice etc. so I stopped giving those foods to him. Gerber makes stage 1 organic prunes and it helps him have smooth moves within 5 or 6 hours, lol.

Oh good to know about the peas.
I am debating just EBFing and no solids for a day.
She can't have Gerber-milk allergy and they have soy. Does Earths Best or Beech Nut make prunes?

Earth's Best makes a prune/oatmeal combo that's stage 2. I gave it to ds about a week ago but we've been doing solids for 2 months now. I think you started Sienna a little later right? I bet it would be okay though if u milked it down. Haha I just used "milked it down" like "watered it down"...

Its typical, when you start solids to get constipateed.. I mix a little prune baby food into what he's eating.
I use plum brand organic prunes

Earth's Best does make stage 1 prunes. Same thing happened to Sean when we first started the solids. he didn't poop for 6 days...this is from a kid that poops at least every day and sometimes multiple times a day. We gave him the prunes in the morning and he pooped that afternoon. They worked wonders!!!

Try gerber organic. DS also has a soy allergy and the organic has no soy in it.

EB does make an all prunes one - we've used it before when DD had issues - worked within a few hours, and whoa did it work... apparently with her, we'll have to use them sparingly, lol.

I used to mix oatmeal and rice cereal with pear or prune juice and then add applesauce. Straight cereal didn't agree with him. Prunes once a day helped too.
