Possible chance for a doosey of snow storm this weekend
There is the "potential for significant snowfall" on Long Island from late Saturday into Monday morning, the National Weather Service said.
Lauren Nash, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said Wednesday it's "very early" in the prediction process, but forecasters are "monitoring the situation."

Low pressure is expected to develop off the mid-Atlantic coast by Sunday morning and is forecast to track toward the Northeast, the weather service said.
"Any precipitation we do get will be snow," Nash said.
There's a 30 percent chance of snow, she said.
How much snow is the question - and that depends on the storm's track and strength.
"A couple of [forecast] models are differing," Nash said.
Nash said it's too soon to make a worst-case scenario prediction.
"Definitely," she said, "keep an eye on the forecast."
Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the 2009 snowstorm which dumped a record 25 inches on Long Island.

If we do AND I PRAY we DONT!! I will have to find someone to shovel for me. I just cant o another storm like last year. I fell 3 times, pulled my back out BAD and then had to go to work , after litterally 3 hours sleep. I HATE HATE HATE SNOW

Just saying. . . Its my birthday on Sunday and it usually snows a Lot . . . There has been a snow the last three years on my birthday. 2 years ago on my 30th. . DH had to cancel a surprise b/day party and I believe last year was a blizzard.

I cant help but laugh to think of the definition of "significant" snowfall in different areas of the country. I'm from Buffalo, their definition of "significant" would be like 4+ ft. Here, it's more than 6 inches. No matter what, I'm all for a nice snowfall!

Blehhhhhh...My birthday is this weekend and we have plans to go to the city for 3rd row seats at Rock of Ages!!!!!
We had to cancel my city Birthday trip last year because...you guessed it...we had that huge (24 inches) snow storm on 12/19...bleh...I hate my birthday...I hate my birthday...i hate my birthday.....
