Potty training moms/BTDT MOMs
Can you tell me your approach?
I bought DS a potty seat a few months ago- I have been sitting him on it sparatically, just for him to get familiar with it.
I would really love to go into full fledge training- I'm just not sure where to begin.
I know, I personally don't believe in pull ups. All the years in daycare, I have come to find that underwear is the best route (of course, its the messiest as well)
I wish I could just take a week off- and stay home and do nothing but put DS on the potty- but unfortunately my job dosen't allow for that at this time...
I have a game plan in my head- but Im curious to see what others are doing..
Also- how do you know if they are ready? Ds dosent show signs of being ready- but I wouldn't say he isn't ready either...

I think if you want to go full fledged potty training mode, start it on a 3 day weekend if you have it.
If you don't want to deal with pull-ups, get him the big boy underwear & make a huge deal of it. Tell him he can wear them when he tells you he needs to go on the potty.
We also used the "going to my potty, potty" video.
Another way is to ply him with water & ask him every 20 minutes if he has to go potty. We had the timer set for Maddie & made a big deal of her trying to go. She started going on her own by telling us but after daycare refused to continue it there, she would go backwards every week.

The key to remember is that every kid is different. There is no "way" to train them. You have to go with what works for DC. With DS, we did everything that every book suggested, and we gave each method several weeks, but no luck. DS is very stubborn, and must always do things on his terms. We even tried to bribe him with cars and stickers, but it wasn't enough. Eventually, he just decided he was ready, and started going, and no accidents since. The moral of the story is, don't worry if he doesn't "get it" for a while, or doesn't respond to whatever method you choose. They all will learn eventually.
