potty training ... scared to poop on potty... I need advice.
DS is almost 2.5 we seem to be ok with peeing in there. But he asks for diaper, pleeds for it, when its poop time, terrified to poop outside of diaper. How do I help him passed this?

my son did this as well. our friend's DS did it also. I gave them the same advice im going to here:
its not worth them getting backed up and in pain. if he asks for the diaper, then just let him do it - he isnt ready.
we let DS ask for a pull up and he went to hide. he would come to us when he was done and cleaned him up. it took a few months, but i didnt care, we used a sticker chart and rewarded him with m&m for going potty, then the poop eventually came.
he actually felt better going on the big potty for a poo - we had a potty seat and a book - we would read the potty book to him and that would distract him, and he eventually went!! he was so proud of himself (as were we) that we went out and bought a new Thomas train for it.
we continued the sticker chart - he loved it - every 5th sticker or so, we bought a thomas train

DD was scared as well.
i would do a pull up for nap and bed and she would go then...
i ended up getting a bunch of things from the dollar store and told her if she pooped on the potty she got to pick something from the bag.
ended up working after a week. GL!

DS used to get a matchbox car or even a bigger toy at the beginning. And we always did huge deal about his poops. We sang, we danced we pretty much threw a party. After about a week he learned to go without a problem.
He was 20-21 months old.

WE had the same problem and honestly, I put a pull up on him if he asked for it. I would rather him poop in the diaper than get constipated. One day he just said he was going poop on the potty, he did, and that was the end of that.

update ... I thought it was only 6m since we had this issue, well its been longer ... ds out of nowhere just decided to poop. we hadgiven up training, since he really got backed up holding poop, and kept him im pull up. hes 3y and 3m and I think were trained!

this is my DS..pee trained but aftraid to poop. he will ask for a pullup and i'll let him poop in it b/c i dont want him to hold it or be in pain.
however he is telling me now that he wants to "practice"pooping on the potty.
like everything else, he will do it on his terms.
