Pre labor grooming
Shaving doesn't seem to be working so well anymore since I cant see. What does everyone do?? Do waxing places accommodate if you cant really lay flat on your back?

Pre labor grooming
I didn't have time to do this! Went in for an emergency c section. I don't even think my legs had been shaved in weeks I was so large and just barely could shower lol they took care of what they needed to for the incision and catheter in the hospital!

Pre labor grooming
I had an appt for 2 days before my scheduled c-section. Then I went into labor early. I kept apologizing on the OR and telling them I had waxing AND pedicure appts for Saturday.
I'm pretty sure they gave zero sh!ts.

Re: Pre labor grooming
Glad I'm not the only one who went in ungroomed! I had early emergency C sections with each of my three kids, so needless to say, I don't think I had even attempted to shave my legs in the month prior. Let alone anywhere else.
As the pp said, I don't think the hospital staff gave a rats azz what I looked like.

When you are in the throes of labor you won't give a shit if you have the wild kingdom growing between your legs. All dignity and pride and vanity go right out the window. The docs and nurses have seen it all....women shitting on the table, blood, guts, etc. A hairy vag is the least of their worries.
I wouldn't have cared if the janitor, my high school English teacher and my boss came in the room, I just wanted her out.

Pre labor grooming
Another ecs here and went in ungroomed and mortified. I had an appointment the next morning so it had been a good two weeks. To make matters worse the doctor was in too much of a rush to shave anything before starting. After a week or two of my incision oozing and me wincing from hairs being caught and pulling in the gunk my OB was kind enough to clean and trim the area which was a godsend but also embarrassing.
With my first I just used the schick razor with the electric trimmer built in. It took a few tries to get the hang of it without being able to see but it was great.

Ditto. I couldn't see and I don't wax. That's the last thing on your doctor's mind in the delivery room.

Pre labor grooming
I get waxed. I wouldn't want to shave down there without being able to see what I am doing. I agree with others in the moment you wont care what you look like down there, but no harm in planning to get groomed beforehand if possible.
Right now I have my last waxing appt scheduled for a week before my due date. Hoping the timing works out decent.

Is waxing crazy painful when pregnant? I feel like I'm so sensitive down there right now!

Re: Pre labor grooming
I wax all through my pregnancies, and everywhere I've been has accommodated me. I occasionally find it a bit extra tender but I'm so used to it by now.
With my first, just by coincidence I had a wax the day before I went into labor. With my second, it was about a week before. For me I prefer it because it feels cleaner during healing, but that's just me.

Now that I'm past the halfway point, it's definitely more painful. However, it's over so quickly that it's worth it. I can't imagine trying to shave without being able to see. I'd at least use a mirror. You should be able to use a pillow or a towel to keep your head propped up so you're not flat on your back.

This. I could have cared less what I looked like during labor. You have all sorts of fluids and blood and other fun things coming out of you. A little hair is really the last thing on your mind.

This is exactly what happened to me! I had a waxing appointment set for Friday at a little over 38 weeks and I went into labor early that Wednesday and had to have an emergency c-section. I was literally crying and apologizing that I had my waxing appointment for Friday and wasn't expecting to go early. They were all just laughing at me.
This time I plan to schedule my last appointment before 38 weeks. I have never shaved and have always waxed so that's what I do through pregnancy also.

This is true. I was more concerned about my hairy legs though! Being stuck in a gown with 2 week growth on my legs was way worse lol. I couldn't wait to be allowed to shower and shave my legs! I had no hospital bag and the first thing I told my mom to bring to me was my razor.

Pre labor grooming
I was put on blood thinners at 28 weeks and it was a VERY high dose. I pretty much gave up shaving anything when that happened. I was too scared to nick myself and end up bleeding like mad.

I just shaved the best I could. My belly was never that big so while it was difficult, it wasn't impossible.

Re: Pre labor grooming
I couldn't see so I wasn't shaved, so they had to shave me. But what I was shocked at was they used TAPE, like DUCT tape, to remove the hairs from shaving.
