Prednisone/Orapred
Dr. put Gavin on this 2x a day 1/2 tsp...anyone have experieces with side effects etc. My poor baby!@!!

I assume it's just for a few days? Each time Ryan was on this his appetite increased, he drank endlessly and was up a bit at night. He was increasingly agitated and I couldn't wait for that 5th day! It works wonders though !

OK, thanks, its a 4 day treatment..He was on it before but I didnt realize it was Prednisone..i thought Orapred was a different medication. It didnt help that much..i don't know why he put us back on it..

They are the same (orapred is prednisolone which is basically the same). Ryan was put on it for swelling in his airways when the nebulizer wans't enough. Generally it reduces swelling in the body so in our case although Ryan stayed congested, he was LESS congested after the airways opened up and he could get the junk out. I've seen it prescribed for a number of reasons.

yeah we are going to see the specialist on Tuesday..hopefully we will be able to get to the bottom of this.
