Pregnancy soon after birth?
My children are 18 months apart. We needed IVF to conceive both times and I am an older mom (I was a few weeks away from turning 40 when my second was born). For us, waiting wasn't an option. I used to work with someone whose children are 10 months apart. She had to see an RE to conceive her first and was told they couldn't conceive naturally. Apparently, doctors were wrong.

Re: Pregnancy soon after birth?
I have three children. My first two 3.5 years apart, and 21 months between my girls. People always ask me if having 3 children is difficult, but it wasn't the 3 children that was difficult, it was the 2 under 2 part that dragged me through the mud. I found having a larger age gap to be more enjoyable, but I will say that my girls being close in age is pretty adorable at 1.5 and 3. I go into their room at night and they sleep together in my younger daughters crib. The younger one asks for the older one as soon as she wakes up. For me, ideally I think 2.5 years apart is ideal, but it is really a personal preference.
