Pregnant woman hit by van dies.
A pregnant woman in the bronx was just hit by a van and pinned under a mini bus. 20 people lifted the bus off of her and they were able to save the baby but, she just died. The man driving the van lost control and he was pictured just sitting on the sidewalk sobbing. What an awful story for all parties.

I just heard this story on the news. The 8 month pregnant woman died &  they managed to deliver the baby via c-section. I think the baby weighed only about 3 lbs.
I believe this was in the Bronx.
Horrible Horrible story.

Saw an update on Newsday:
Police have charged the 72-year-old driver in the death of a pregnant New York City traffic agent who was killed when she was struck by his vehicle and a school bus. Doctors saved the baby.
Police say the van driver was arrested on charges of criminally negligent homicide and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Donnette Sanz, 33, was seven months pregnant when she was hit by the van and a school bus Thursday in the Bronx. Police say the van pushed Sanz in front of the bus, which ran her over.
Witnesses say onlookers lifted the bus and pulled Sanz from under it.
Doctors at a nearby hospital saved Sanz' 3-pound son by emergency Caesarean section. He's in critical condition.

20 viotations! He should be devastated along with feeling a horrible horrble guilt something I hope he feels the rest of his life!
This is so sad.

This was my reaction too...I saw him on the news, on the sidewalk and was like  then the reporter said 20 Violations...I was pizzed!!! WTH was he doing on the road?

It's just so scary that anything can happen. She was a NYC traffic agent but had been on desk duty due to her pregnancy. She was out getting her lunch when she was she was struck
