pricing..
when you get something that was super cheap - or buy something cheap and get complemented on it - do you feel the need to tell someone how much you paid for it?
i always find myself blurting out "I GOT IT FOR $10" - why cant i just say "thank you" ???

I used to but not anymore - b/c someone complimented me on a shirt I had on - and I said thanks - it was 10 bucks
and she said - I didn't ask you how much it was, I said I liked it

My mom and I have this conversation all the time. For instance, if someone is carrying a knock-off hand bag and gets complimented on it, they immediately say "it's a fake!" but you don't hear someone who gets complimented on their real hand bag say "it's real!".
We're all strange in that way. Perhaps it's guilt...

I do that also- or I say - thanks! it's from Target
but never thanks it's from saks
or thanks - I got it on sale for $19- but never I paid $200
I love to get good deals and tell people- not so much to "brag" but so they can go get it also
but I also went to FIT and work in the industry so it takes on a different meaning to most of my friends
