Probiotic (Culturelle) Question- Have a 5 week old with painful gas
My 5 week old has terrible gas. His ped recommended a probiotic (Culturelle) to help. We have been giving this to him for 2 days and do not see improvement yet. Anybody have experience with this or a panfully gassy infant and any suggestions?

Re: Probiotic (Culturelle) Question- Have a 5 week old with painful gas
I heard that the probiotic takes at least a few days to take effect
My second baby was VERY gassy his first 12 weeks of life. We switched to Similac Sensitive RTF formula at around 6 weeks and noticed a big difference. Born Free bottles. I also heard some people had great luck with chamomile tea for gas.
I found that I still had to do a lot of walking around/bouncing with him in my arms. It was exhausting at times. But thankfully it passed. I would keep up with the probiotic, I did hear good things about it even though I don't have first hand experience.
