Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
Has anyone experienced problems ttc a second or third dc after having little to no issues conceiving prior? This is where I am at now. I have two ds (4 and 2). I conceived the first after two months of trying and the second on the first shot. Now trying for number three for about 10 months now with no success. I have been tracking my period and ovulation and using opks although I don't always seem to get an accurate reading. I had a sono done and all looked "normal". I am grateful for my healthy sons and if I can only have two I am happy with that. I just feel like I don't understand why all of a sudden I am having such a hard time.

Re: Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
It happens. I'm sorry it's happening to you. I conceived and gave birth to my DD with no problems and no complications. When it came time to try for #2, I had 6 miscarriages in a row. I have no idea if I just got incredibly lucky with her or if I developed some sort of a new problem 2 years after having her. I started seeing an RE after miscarriage #2 and am now 21 weeks along, keeping my fingers crossed and majorly panicking pretty much every day.
When you have had successful pregnancies but can't get pregnant again after 6 months or a year (depending on your age), it's called "secondary infertility." You can google that or do a search here on LIF and get tons of information. Good luck.

Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
Me! I finally got pregnant after a year and a half. Went to a RE, found nothing. Had an appt scheduled with them for procedure information because I finally came to terms with me being infertile, got a BFP that day. I will be 8 weeks Thursday. The ole' "when you stop trying, it happens" proved true for us. Good Luck ladies!
ETA: Got pregnant right away with my first.

Re: Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
Thanks ladies. I saw my doc the other day and he said next step is to see an re. He did a sono and saw nothing, I'm 33 so he said he basicay has no answer and an re is the next step. I think I would be open to going to meet with one but our insurance doesn't cover any fertility issues. Dh and I also had agreed that we wouldn't take any "grand steps" in becoming pregnant. That we have 2 healthy sons snd if it happens it happens. I just unfortunately thought it would have happened by now.

Re: Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
For our first DC it only took 8 months to get our BFP, which at that time was torture.
Here we are trying for our 2nd and it's been a long hard year and a half with BFNs.
Granted it's 6 years later since our first BFP so we are much older, but I didn't think it would take this long. We were both tested and are both in prime baby making condition. We're not interested in going any further with medical intervention to get the BFP, so it's taxing for sure.
Much babydust and prayers for you and your DH.

Re: Problem ttc after successful pregnancies?
Yes! took 3 tries for DD#1...going on 2 years for #2 on my 2WW for 4th IUI. Had a chemical in August of 2014. Just trying to be faithful and taking all my vitamins everyday. DH is on the fence for IVF but when that time comes we will discuss. Need to have 6 IUI for my insurance to partially cover IVF.
Good Luck!
