PSA: LOck your doors and set your alarms....
Not trying to scare you I swear but I have been talking to friends all over LI and it seems that crime is increasing--especially home invasions One of my friends in Glen Oaks had her hous ebroken in to--they took 3K in money and her jewelry . Then another in Lynbrook and they took her TV, jewelry, prescriptions AND CHECKS--
DH's cop friends said to make sure you always move your recycle bin--sign you are not home and leave the radio on.
He said crime has picked up and doesnt matter where you live that overall crime is up. People are hurting all over.
So please be safe.

 this is so sad but so true !! they are even stealing alot of car tires ,it was on the news yesterday

I was always so laxed with the door...many of our neighbors are close, so I never thought about it...
I'm so different now...Even if I'm in the living room where the front door is, I make sure I have both locks locked....so scary!!!

My DH's office was broken into last week Thank goodness they got scared of the alarm. I also know of at least 3 home invasions during the day.
And then yesterday there was one in Seaford

i live in glen oaks too!
yes we have more security aorund. in my court yard alone weve had 2 cars gps stolen (the windows were broken) and 1 car had its tires stolen at 3pm. broad daylight.
