PSA re: Car Seats/Infant carriers

When you go to register for the car seat and infant carrier you want, see if the store will let you see it in your car. I have what I call an old lady sedan (it's an Infiniti so you can compare) and the Graco snugride 35 barely fits in the back seat. It has to go in the middle (which I know is preferable anyway but I think it's a giant pain the a ss to have to climb in and put the kid in there when you can just plop it in from the outside if it's by the door- yet another nod to my Mother of the Year nomination )
and the infant carrier actually fits through the 2 front seats a little bit. I"m 5'4" with nubs for legs so it's not like my driver's seat is way back. My friend said she had the same problem with her CRV.

So take the time to measure or try to see it in the car first. It's going to be tight in my backseat and I can forget about trying to get 2 car seats back there.

good to know - i'm nervous about this too.

i also have nubs for legs (i'm 5'3") but my DH is 6'3". Luckily he has the bigger car so hopefully it wont' be an issue.

Thanks! I was actually thinking about this with my car. It has bucket seats in the back and I'm wondering if they are too deep to balance the base on.

I will definitley ask if we can check it when we go to buy the carrier.

We were able to test the carseat at BBB. Just pull your car up to the front and leave your drivers license with customer service. We took out 2 different car seats (demo models) to see which we liked better.
