How much do they sell the PIS if I have to pay OOP?
I asked this about the Freestyle and it was $403 which is a lot more than the $305ish that my grandma paid at BBB w/ the 20% coupon. (It was a shower gift but I was returning it if the insurance covered it).
Really? That sucks! Azoodie posted above that the pump costs $232 directly from them, not $403??

Empire - UHC does NOT cover it at all. I am very surprised by this
Remember, it totally depends on YOUR plan, not the insurance company itself.
I have gov. plan (mostly teachers and gov employees)

Re: PSA: Update on breastpump coverage by insurance!
I called my insurance (United Healthcare) and it's not covered. I will most likely be getting it through this company now that I know it's much cheaper!

Re: PSA: Update on breastpump coverage by insurance!
Just called my insurance company and im 100% covered. When i called edge park they were setting up my account and getting ready to take my ins. info and dr info, i was put on hold and was disconnected. Just wondering if they asked any of you who ordered from edge park for your drs information?

I was told that if my insurance was covering it (in my case it was 50%) that it would be $116 out of pocket. They have a deal w/ the insurance (at least w/ mine/Empire) that the base price would be $232 and they go from there. However, she said to buy it from them privately is $403.

Oh that stinks. I thought their regular price would've been $232. I will change the info on the regular post...sorry

Re: PSA: Update on breastpump coverage by insurance!
Thank you so much for this post! I have HIP and they also covered my breast pump 100%. I just emailed them, they gave me the name and number of the supplier who required a script and copy of insurance card from the doc and I got my pump today. It's the Purely Yours by Ameda. I'm so excited that I got it for free...can't believe it. SOOO worth calling your insurance to check. Thanks again!!

Does anyone have Empire Government as their insurance company? Usually they are fantastic about coverage and I am just wondering if before I make a call if they cover it or not...

Re: PSA: Update on breastpump coverage by insurance!
I have HIP Prime and I called and it's covered 100%. But the Doc has to get the authorization and then let me know how to go about getting it.
