Pumping after EBF
Did anyone start pumping bottles early? DD is a week old, and her ped. told me to wait at least until she's 3 weeks, but I am thinking I'd like to start a little earlier. Thanks!

Re: Pumping after EBF
I was pumping from the beginning because she had a hard time latching and I wanted her to get BM. It worked for us. And I continued so that if I needed to leave her with someone (we were house hunting at the time) I could.

Re: Pumping after EBF
At this point your sole purpose really needs to be establishing your supply. At one week PP (for both my babies) I only pumped just a little to relieve engorgement. Pumping too much couuld cause an imbalance of foremilk vs. hindmilk- which can cause gas, tummy aches, poop issues.
I started pumping to build my freezer stash at about 3 weeks.

This is what I'm also doing at 1 week PP.
