Queens Moms re: drinking water

A friend emailed me to let me know that her ped. told her that we have too much flouride in our water and her son's teeth are stained because of it.

Brita does not filter out flouride.

Does anyone give bottled water for this reason? How do I make sure DD is getting SOME flouride?

I haven't heard that, but DS gets both bottled and Brita-filtered tap water.

He is 2 1/2 and I have not noticed stained teeth.

I will ask at the next ped visit.

Re: Queens Moms re: drinking water

my ped once mentioned a flouride supplement ...you can probably buy one and add it to the water.

i have no clue about the water in my area..i should probably check.

My dd goes to daycare in suffolk so she gets that in the brita pitcher during the day...with dinner I usually give her filtered water from my fridge or straight from the tap. I asked the ped if that was enough b/c all of her water was not coming from queens and he said they only need a little bit and that it is enough. I never really give her bottled water-sometimes when she wants to take a sip from mine but i don't give it to her in her cup from there.
