Re: Question about car mirrors and children

if the mirror is tethered to the car, there is no way for it to fly off.....

I had one and I loved it

I had it but never used it. IMO, it's a waste and not needed.

Have them. Use them. Love them. I love being able to see Benjamin without having to turn around. We used the Monkey one when he was rear facing and the other one now that he's forward facing.

Re: Question about car mirrors and children

Loved mine! I got a new car though and it doesn't fit properly since I have headrests in the back now.

If it's tethered in it's a non-issue. Afterall, you tether your carseat in with the same mechanism and no one worries about that flying out Chat Icon

Re: Question about car mirrors and children

I bought one but never used it bc when I got the car seat inspected, they said that they were unsafe. I'm sure it's a great feature, but I honestly haven't missed it.

they are not reccomended for use by the police. I have seen a lot of minor car accidents in which the baby wold have been fine if it wasn't for the mirror. During impact they can fly off and hit the baby in the head.

Any police department you go to, if you have your car seat installed will reccomend you not to use one.

We did not use them either for this reason.

The guy of the Nassau County Safety Council told us no mirror in case we were in an accident.

Same here.

A Suffolk cop from the 2nd precinct installed our seats. She said no mirrors or anything else should be in the back seat, no tissue boxes, etc. as they can become projectiles in an accident.

Thank you!

In addition, does every precinct have a person who will inspect or install the seats? Can anyone tell me more about this? Thanks!
