Question about Happiest Baby on the Block
For those of you who watched the DVD or read the book.... I just read the FAQ's online. Dr. Karp suggests using the white noise all night and every nap time while being swaddled. Then he says you can use the white noise after you wean off of the swaddle. He says you can use this up 6-8 months and it's good for teething too. I don't remember this from the DVD. I use the swaddle and sometimes use the white noise (the womb sound on the DVD) when I want DS to sleep longer. I also use the swinging and shushing, but I haven't tried the all night noise. I don't want him to get used to it so that he can't sleep without it. Does anyone use the white noise all night or everytime DC sleeps? Has it made a big difference? Have you tried to wean DC off of it? TIA!

For DS I used the swaddling without the white noise. It worked like a charm

Re: Question about Happiest Baby on the Block
I do, but sometimes I forget to put it on and she's fine. I used white noise with my DS also and had no trouble weaning him from it. I just stopped turning it on. I think it would be easy to gradually wean though if you had to because you could just gradually lower the volume until it was off.

Same, we never used white noise at all. We DID use the mobile though and still do. As soon as we turn that puppy on....he's out cold.....

Re: Question about Happiest Baby on the Block
Some nights we use the white noise...shutting it off during one of the early morning feedings. Other nights, we just need to swaddle. Like you, I didn't want to depend on it so I try to shut it off once she's down. Plus, the noise drives *me* insane LOL I can't take consistent noises over long periods of time.
