Question about newborn care - dry skin & using baby wipes
At what point, did you start using baby wipes? I know the hospital and pediatrician recommend using soft cloth & water to clean the baby's diaper?
Also, my son has dry & flaky skin. Do I just leave it - no lotion yet - right?
I can't seem to remember when I started things with DS #1 - thanks!

Re: Question about newborn care - dry skin & using baby wipes
We started using baby wipes as soon as we were home from the hospital. So much easier than damp paper towels.
For now, I might leave the dry skin alone since it's so common in newborns. If it's really bad, maybe try a little Aquaphor... it works wonders and they make some just for babies.
Congrats!

I went right to wipes after we got home- I started with a sensitive one. But she really didnt' have dry skin. I also slathered her butt and diaper area with aquafor at every diaper change. It has been great- never got dry skin or a diaper rash yet!
