Question about nursery school
So dd is at an in home daycare now, there are a few other children her age there and she is really flourishuing
I am trying to decide when and if she needs to go to nuirsery school. I am just not sure how this would work since I work FT
I know in the beginning they only go part time so I am not sure how I would get her from nursery to the daycare providers
Is nursery school necessary? What are your FT moms doing in this regard?

Re: Question about nursery school
Thomas is in a day care center with a cirriculum and I plan to keep him there as combined daycare/nursery school.
I also work full time.

This is what I did as well. They were called 'day school' instead of 'day care' - but same concept.
As to if she needs it.. I'd say no. She is flourishing and social. And the home daycare likely has some elements of learning as well. If you don't put her in a 'formal' school, you can still teach her at home - reading, doing ABC's, counting and finding activities that build early learning skills. Robbie and Noah probably learned more at home than they did at pre school.

Re: Question about nursery school
Claire's daycare center does nursery school type activities now, but has a formal nursery school curriculum starting at 3 years old so we will take advantage of that.
Miki is very social and smart, so I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. However, when she is a little older, is there a way you can get help from your in laws wherein they can pick her up from a nursery school and drop her off at the sitters? Do you work nearby? If you have a short commute and pick a school nearby, can you do a 2-day preschool and pick her up/drop her off at lunch?
If not, I would wait until she is old enough for a full day program and then alternate the sitter with daycare on different days of the week.
I don't think it's a must, but if you can figure out this puzzle it she might enjoy it.

yes, I work very close to my sitter (about 10-15 minutes) so I could definitely put her in an AM program, drop her off before work, then pick her up at lunch and bring her to the sitters...that would work
Thanks, I will look into some curriculum (ha, I had no idea how to spell that so I copied and pasted it from your post)

Thank you for asking this question bc its my thoughts line for line...
Let me ask this... if you do what you are suggesting above... half preschool/half daycare ...wont that really be expensive vs just finding an old day preschhol or daycare/preschool cirriculum?

Re: Question about nursery school
for example one school offers a program which is
3-day class for three-year olds This class is from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays. Children bring their lunches and eat at school. Drop-off / pick-up service is provided at the curb after the ease-in period is over. After a $85 non-refundable registration fee, there will be a monthly tuition fee of $200.

That's a pretty good rate, plus you will be getting a good rate from your sitter for both kids so I think all and all you would still come out ahead versus using a full day center.
If you wanted to go to a full day center for Miki and keep the new baby at the sitter, centers in our area run about 700-800 month. However, she is doing so well with the sitter, I would probably try things our with the part time nursery school when the time is right.
P.S. as for curriculum-I am the worst speller. I only spell it right because I use spell check!
