Question about spitting up
Mikayla has been spitting up pretty much after every formula feeding.....(she is 80% breastfed and 20% formula fed)
When she spits up it comes out of her mouth and nose and she screams and cries (I assume cause it burns/hurts coming out of her nose)
Is there anything I can do to help with this? I try to sit her up during feeding and burp her a lot during feeding. Thanks girls

Re: Question about spitting up
What kind of formula are you supplementing with? Maybe that type of formula is too much for her and you have to try something easier on her belly...

Re: Question about spitting up
she may have reflux. We had to switch to Similac Isomil for that reason. if it starts to happen after every bottle you have to call the doctor - only b/c she is not getting all the nutrients that she needs and they may have to give her something to help it (baby zantac or something - especially if she is spitting up a lot). that or she could be having too much - but i bet its more the reflux.

It happened last night after her bottle, but then today, I fed her 3 ounces and she only spit up a tiny bit, and it did not come out of her nose like last night......I have her one month appointment on Monday so I will ask the doctor.....thanks for the info....I feel so bad when she spits up...and last night, it was more like throw up being that it was so much and it came out of her lil nose too

Re: Question about spitting up
i know its heartbreaking - my DD had it bad but it wasnt after EVERY bottle so she didnt need the Zantac or anything. but she would scream. the only other thing they said was to just make sure i sat her up for 1/2 hour after she ate. i guess the combination of everything worked b/c she stopped as soon as we switched the formula and sat her up longer.
good luck Monday - i hope it gets better fast!
