question for those who had membranes stripped

my dr stripped my membranes today, and within 2 hours or so, i started having contractions. they've been 2-4 minutes apart since they started (around 3:15 or so). If you had your membranes stripped, did you have contractions that went away after a few hours? With DD 1, I had contractions 3 days before my real labor that were also 2-4 minutes apart for 8 hours or so, and then they stopped. these contractions are more intense, but im wondering if they are going to stop and it's just because of the exam.

I had them stripped with my first pregnancy and my OB said that it could help things move along. My contractions started when I left the office early in the afternoon and they continued until the night. At 9pm my water broke and we went to the hospital and I had my baby the next morning.

I went into labor six days later....Likely not having anything to do with the stripping.

when I had them stripped I went into labor 24 hours later. I had contractions about an hour intially after the stripping that went away and then the next day had full blown contractions and had my baby that night.
