Question for those with PCOS
This might be better on Pregnancy or IF so I am going to crosspost but how many of you who have PCOS got pregnant without the use of Clomid or anything like that? When I was diagnosed, my doctor years ago said when I wanted to start trying I would have to give it a while and would probably need a "boost". I said this to my cousin the other day and she yelled at me for being so negative. I am just curious to see how many of u with PCOS actually conceived on your own w/out the use of anything else. Thanks so much!

Re: Question for those with PCOS
It's almost impossible to conceive on your own with PCOS...you don't ovulate so you can't conceive.
Depending on your weight, a Dr. may put you on Metformin first to control your blood sugar levels. That can sometimes resolve PCOS by itself.
Other than that you would have to see an RE and they would go through a certain series of treatments for you.

Re: Question for those with PCOS
I think it really all depends on your specific case.
I was diagnosed with pcos, the cysts are present but i have been ovulating on my own..regular cycles etc..I keep getting pregnant but unfortunately keep miscarrying. They put me on metformin to help decrease the cysts but for now we are not on any type of clomid etc.
I would say find a doctor who is really familiar with pcos and than see what will work best for your case!
Best of luck!!

Re: Question for those with PCOS
I was diagnosed with PCOS...I did ovulate but never around the same time my cycle were from 29-42 days.
I am currently 23 weeks pregnant ... I didn't take any medication just used OPKs and BBT to pin point when I ovulated.

Re: Question for those with PCOS
I got pregnant without any help and I have PCOS. I ovulate but I have long cycles so the trick with me was to figure out when I was ovulating. I charted my temp for a year to give myself an idea of when I was ovulating. I also started exercising and watching what I eat which will help regulate your cycles when you have PCOS.
It is not true that you can't get pregnant without help. I did it all on my own and got pregnant the first time we tried. I had tried Clomid last January but we decided not to try to get pregnant because we decided to try without help. I waited 7 more months and I was much more in tune with my body so I knew exactly when I was ovulating.

Re: Question for those with PCOS
I never ovulate because of the PCOS, so its pretty much impossible for me to get pg without help. I was on metformin for four months, with no successs, so I just finished my first cycle with clomid and am in my 2WW.

Re: Question for those with PCOS
If you ovulate on your own, you can get pg without help, it just might take longer. However, if you aren't ovulating on your own (I'm not) then you will need assistance.

Re: Question for those with PCOS
I have PCOS and conceived without the the use of meds. But, I am very irregular with my cycles and play the guessing game when it comes to o'd.
