Questions about getting ready to give birth...

So I'm a bad mommy to be and haven't really been keeping up with the readings for being pregnant. I honestly have no clue what I should be doing in preparation for giving birth. I read about lots of you doing exercises like squats and stuff...where did you find this information? What should I be reading? I would really like to go natural if possible and I guess I should be doing my homework so I know what's involved!

So where are you finding your info on stuff like this? Or even better, just tell me what you're doing in preparation.

if you really want to be that prepared you should take a lamaze class

I didn't have a birth plan, I just watched a video and hoped for the best! I knew I was going to get the epi and prayed that all went well. When the time came I guess I just went with it.

There's nothing you should do to prepare for it....When I was preggo with Leah, I walk a lot everyday for at least an hour with DH. I didn't take lamaze class or any types of preparation class . When I was in L & D, the nurses teach you how to push. No need to prepare... When it happens, trust me....you will be ready for it...

I was bracing myself for even opening this thread!

I'm too scared to read anything that has to do with going into labor or giving birth. There's a good chance I'll run out of any class where they show a video of giving birth.

The OBGYN gave me a packet of info... it had stuff to look out for to know if you are going into labor within the next few weeks... a full 2 to 3 pages worth of info... I read everything in that packet BUT that!! DH read it and started telling me the info in it is nuts and I made him stop talking about it.

I'm going in and asking for the drugs... I'm so petrified of this part of it all!!!

Nothing you can do..

And don't push like you're pooping, you need to push from your abs if that makes sense...my delivery was beyond fast and pushed maybe a total of 5 times and DD was out, my Dr and the intern kept asking me to make sure I never did this before bc I was pushing so well.....

Nothing will prepare you and honestly I've heard so many women have birth plans and it all changes, you have no clue how your labor will happen and progress...it's scary!!!

I've heard that kegel exercises can really help build muscle where you need it and help with delivery.

I didnt do anything, during labor i did my own breathing i made it because i didnt go to lamaze classes...and it worked

on my due date i was so tired of being preggo i walked the entire day and went shopping then i walked in my house, and my water did break that day..besides walking, i didnt do much else.
