Grace will be 3yrs old in about 2 weeks and is no where near being potty trained. I bribed with Chocolate, pull ups, stickers, toys, big girl underpants, read every potty book and saw every potty DVD known to man and NOTHING.

I gave up and figure when she is ready she will do it. I mean no kid walks into high school in pull ups right? Grace is a smart kid, I feel she's mentally "holding on" to the diaper b/c it is the ONE thing in her life she has control of. I am done fighting it and deciding to go w/the flow on this.

Anyway, piggy backing on racheee's post, I was thinking... racheee and I cannot be the only ones with kids who FLAT OUT REFUSE to use the potty.

My son is 2.5 and he is nowhere near ready to use the potty. I'm waiting until he's 3 to even try.

In may she will be 2.5 and no she is not potty trained.

Every kid is different - don't compare your child to others, you will go nuts!!!

Maddie isn't potty trained and is 2 1/2.. it's KILLING me- because i know she is just way too smart to not get it...

She wants an American Girl Chrissa doll- so that's what I keep drilling into her head- no potty, no Chrissa... (for $95 I expect something in return, dang- those dolls are expensive)

DS is 2 1/2 and no interest at all in the potty! OK, he has interest but not in actually doing anything on it

DD will be 3 in almost exactly a month, and not potty trained.

Bella didn't make FULL daytime progress, pee and poo until she was 3 years and 3 months...it takes time and she didn't make progress until 2 months later....



We went with pretty much the same approach as you just said...and she really did it when she was ready.

I agree! And I always tell everyone "be careful what you wish for!". My DD will be 3 next month and has been trained now for about 6 weeks..... but she is a toilet phobe and will ONLY pee or poop at home on her little red potty chair. It's absolute torture to go anywhere, or even anyone else's house because she will not use another potty. At all. So while I am happy she is trained (night's too, she wakes and call me from her crib!!), it's been harder than just having her in diapers still!

They will get it. Hang in there!

Ryan is not potty trained. He'll be 3 in June.

DS wasn't fully potty trained until he was 3.5! I was told not to worry, you never see i kid in college with diapers

My son was three in March and has no interest whatsoever in using the potty. People keep telling me when he's ready, he'll just do it. I hope so!

Dina once again we're in the same boat. Ellie will be 3 in may and is totally not ready and not interested and we've tried all kinds of bribes.

Andrew has his moments and will be 3 the end of May. I did care but now I don't have the energy. I put him back in diapers until he is really ready again. Pull ups hold nothing

He was doing really really well when we first had Alexa and now he is too busy he tells me

My son will be 3 at the end of May and is not PT'd. But I'm not sweating it, I have 2 older ones and I've seen how it works. Most will not do it until they are personally ready, for whatever reason. I haven't pushed him with it bc he just resists more, which is exactly what my older son did. When I backed off (not pushing it, not offering bribes) DS #1 trained very quickly right after that, literally within 2 weeks. DS #2 has been going onto the potty himself a lot this past week so I can tell he's getting it. FWIW, the average kid doesn't potty train under 3. My DD was very young but most kids I know personally have trained around 3 or so. Not all of course but most. It'll happen.

Oh well they will get it eventually.

DD is 2.5 and has gone on the potty a handful of times, but mostly doesn't want anything to do with it.

So far, I haven't pushed it. But once her 3rd bday rolls around...we'll have to switch into high gear.

Jack is 2 yrs 9 mos and has no interest in it either. He knows what it is. He tells me when he poops. He is starting to tell me when he pees BUT he absolutely refuses to sit on the potty. Just wont do it. I figured I'll wait until the summer and put him in big boy underwear when we are outside and if he has an accident so be it.
