Random C-Section Question--Stitches or Staples???(POLL)
Just realized after a conversation with a friend that some people do not get staples. I assumed because I did, so did everyone else.  So just curious....

I had staples but my OB said that they would stitch me after the next c-section...maybe because I have a horrible hypertrophic scar?

Neither! I had steri-strips. My OB peeled them off when the incision closed up, about a week later.

And you didn't have anything else? I didn't know steri strips were that strong. I had staples which they took out the day I got released and they replaced them with steri strips, some came off on their own, some she removed at my 2 week follow up appt.

didnt have csection - but my drs office said he does stitches.......... its suppose to be better but takes more time so alot of doctors do staples with a follow up for stitches.

neither, i had glue. I was apprehensive at first but worked just fine, easy to come off too.

First c-section I got stitches; second was staples. I MUCH preferred the stitches, though they did pop, and the staples never did.

I'm pretty sure I had dissolving stitches and steri-strips too. My doctor didn't remove them though. They either fell off or I took some of them off.

This is what I had too. But, stupid me, when the doctor told me to leave the strips alone, I really did. Still had them at my 6 week follow up and she looked at me like I was nuts when I asked if it was ok to take them off finally. I was afraid if I took them off too soon, my stomach would burst open or something.

I had disolving staples and steri-strips. Unless I had asked, I never would have known. But I don't think just steri-strips would hold you closed.
