DD - staples
DS - stitches (internal) - much better scar!

Both so I couldn't answer your poll - I had staples the 1st time and it healed so beautifully that they decided to do stitches for my 2nd section.

And you didn't have anything else? I didn't know steri strips were that strong. I had staples which they took out the day I got released and they replaced them with steri strips, some came off on their own, some she removed at my 2 week follow up appt.
I pretty sure there are stitches under the steri-strips. I also had steri-strips and I think after my first c-section I remember the doctor saying something about the stitches melting.
Yep, this is what I had- the dissolving stitches and steri-strips.

As far as I know, there were no stitches under there, unless they "melted" super fast because the strips were off at my 1 week PP visit and there were no stitches on my incision.

You probably had stitches that dissolved. There is no way that steri-strips would hold a c-section incision closed...
I had that....And they dissolved quickly...

DC # 1 : staples, they were out by day 3 and my by the time DD was 2 even the OB's could not find my scar.
DC#2: I had glue. Again it has healed beautifully.
I think how you heal has more to do with your skin type and the surgeon and less to do with whether it is stitches, staples or adhesive.

I voted stitches, but I only had stitches on the inside, and glue on the outside. Yes, glue...like a giant liquid bandaid lol. And yes, my mouth was  when they told me...I had no clue you could do that.

I think how you heal has more to do with your skin type .
Def has to do with your skin! all of the docs in the practice are surprised I keloided bc of the type of stitch that was done. I knew going in I have skin that scars easily and doesn't heal well. they will repair but i'm sure the same will happen again.

I'm in NC and my Dr's office only does disposable stitches inside and out. My friend in NY gets staples. I would definitely prefer stitches.
