random q-- do you need your DC's SS# to open a joint bank account with their name??
I need to get to the bank so I can start depositing these checks written out to her... Just wondering if I need to take her SS card with me.

yes - you need their SS# to open the account (i just did this).

I needed it when I opened an account for DD. I was added on her account as the custodian/consenting parent.
