K, we have Slomin & they were great. They were fast, professional & answered any q's. Not too expensive either. Also if you get an alarm make sure you tell your insurance co. b/c your homeowners' insurance goes down.

agreed. So far so good. We had the alarm go off once (our fault) and they called in 10 seconds. Wow!

At our NY house we have ADT. (I HATE them BTW)
At our house now, we have Next Alarm. No complaints. No contracts and much cheaper.

We used Meenan bc you gt free installation when you sign a heating oil contract. No complaints so far

We use Lowitt Alarms. My ILs used them in this house before us too. Last year I called around b/c we wanted to upgrade our system and Lowitt was the lowest monthly fee and for all the work we wanted. We have glass breaks on all the windows up and down so no one offered us free install since it was a lot of work.

Well, for one, that stupid contract. It's not transferable and even if you move, you are still committed to paying it. Secondly, I had malfunctions on the system (I didn't know about any of them) and when a tech came out (who tried to charge me BTW), it seemed as though the system had NOT been working for MONTHS, even though I was paying and they wouldn't give me a credit for that either.
Also, when the system was working, I had a false alarm where the alarm went off (My house was being shown to be rented and we weren't home and the broker inadvertantly set off the alarm, and NO ONE showed up to the house or called) and if I hadn't noticed the message on the alarm pad, I would never have known.
Imagine if there were a REAL emergency?
If you do a search on ADT, they have had nothing but problems.

We have Lowitt - very happy with them, no issues. My parents used them while I was growing up as well and were very happy.
