Really bad diaper rash...TMI
Yesterday my son pooped what seemed like all day. But I was on top of it. His butt got a little red but not too terrrible. When he woke up today and I changed his diaper, his butt was fire engine red. Is this normal? (It's never happened to us before where it got red the next day.) And is there something I can put on it to calm it down a bit? (We normally use either desitin or aquaphor.) TIA

triple paste works really good on bad diaper rashes. It is expensive but it does work. I know you can find it at CVS

My son had a terrible diaper rash a couple of weeks ago....and he rarely gets them...hes teething, so I think it added to it.
I followed someones advice on here....i put mylanta on his hiney first..let it sit for a minute....then put on triple paste (make sure the mylanta dries...its a little hard to get he triple paste on)....let it sit for a couple of minutes, and then put on a&d ointment.
I couldn't believe how well this worked.

I second the triple paste!!
My DD had a diaper rash that was bleeding(from antibiotics) and my Dr said Triple Paste and Powder and it worked like a charm. Now I use nothing but Triple Paste.

DS gets these alot and just had a very bad one that was bleeding last week. My ped told me to put destin/balamax and basatracine (sp?). It turned out that DS had a yeast infection anyway and needed to be put on a prescribed cream.
