Recent success stories on getting out of a car lease early?

Has anyone recently been able to get out of a lease early? I have about 18 months left on my car but the payments are just way too high now that I'm a SAHM. I'm willin to lease a new one at the same dealer. I have a 2011 Honda accord.

Most of the time they just hide the remaining payments in the new lease. So it can almost always be done but all the times I have done it I was under 6 months left on the lease.

I tried w mine. 7 payments left bc they sent me a flyer saying they needed used cars bc of sandy.

Well they asked for $3500 down and $30 more a month bc they would have to absorbe my remaining payments. Not worth it.

I think there's a website where you can trade w ppl. Get out of your lease and finish theirs.

My lease is up at the end of June and I called my dealer in January about getting out early since I'm over my mileage.

He was still asking for $2K down.

Not gonna happen.

I'm going back and forth about buying the car outright now, but that's another thread.

Nissan let us out w/ 15 months left.

I just got out of my Nissan murano lease 15 mos early and went to VW AND GOT my pmt lowered by $105 per month

I got out of my VW lease with about 8 months left and leased a new VW at same dealer. Yes it's more $ per month but I went from a jetta to an SUV. I was WAY under mileage. Like ridiculously so.

I'm done with my Kia lease in October so I may call them to get out early and possibly get another Kia or Hyundai with zero down. Hope it works!

I have gotten out of honda leases early two times at Atlantic Honda in Bayshore. Basically if you have low mileage they will buy out your lease (not absorb payment into your new lease).. and sell that car. Because hondas have great residual value, they can sell that car used and make more profit than they get from leasing you a new vehicle. First time I did it I had TWO YEARS left on my lease (cr-v that I hated).. last time I had 5 months left. I am going to do it again- it's up in August (Odyssey) but want an accord.

I have gotten out of one lease early and just tried with my current car. Basically they treat it like you are trading in the car. Give you the trade in value and apply that to what you owe on the car (you can usually find out your payoff amount online). If the trade is worth the same, or more then you owe, you can walk away with a downpayment (this happened the first time I turned in my lease early).
