Recomend a town in Nassau County!!!

Hello Im new to these boards. I am looking for a home in Nassau County but know VERY little about it. Can anyone tell me what the good areas are? Young family areas with lots to do that are close to the city and have good schools?? I would really appreciate it!

Ditto. These are the towns we would have looked in if we still lived on LI. I would have also added Bethpage. If we were looking north shore: Port Washington, Manhasset, Jericho, Syosset (if we could have afforded it.)

Port Washington or Rockville Centre. Both have a ton of young people and great commutes to the city.

Re: Recomend a town in Nassau County!!!

Different towns are known for different things.

Young town and a lot to do: Rockville Center, Long Beach, Port Washington.

Suburbia but want to be commuting distance from the city: Wantagh, Bellmore, Merrick, Lynbrook

Close to shopping and highways but still hear crickets in your yard: East Meadow, Bethpage, Plainview, Garden City

Most SDs in Nassau IMO are very good, but not all. Some of these towns have more than one school district, so once you narrow down the towns, definitely investigate the SDs.

Good luck!!

Re: Recomend a town in Nassau County!!!

What is your price range? That will help a lot for these recommendations. The better the school district, the higher the price. That being said, I am sure you can find a good school district in any price range.

Floral Park and/or Bellerose Village. The homes in BV are gorgeous. FP too (especially near the West End). Both are right near the train station. 30 minutes from Manhattan.Chat Icon
