I live in Seaford and the taxes are through the roof. I pay over 10K for 70X90 plot of land and a 1700 sq. ft. house.

I guess it depends where in Seaford. My parents will only be paying $7300 and so many other houses they looked at were a lot less then 10,000.

I don't know why I care so much. She is even looking for the south shoreChat Icon

Mineola, Albertson, Williston Park, Carle Place, New Hyde Park, Floral Park.

While many of these are nice areas, I would guess that most of the houses in these neighborhoods with taxes under $7500 would be very small.

Hmm, I honestly can't think of any North Shore neighborhoods with taxes under $7500.

WE pay less than $7000 - north shore nassau on a 75x180 property.

That's awesome - esp. for that kind of property! We pay $8500+ for a 60x100 in South Nassau - rip off.

Bellmore, Merrick

Bellmore and Merrick taxes are through the roof on the majority of the houses.

carle place

i think their taxes are around that

i live in westbury/but carle place schools but taxes are over 10-11k.

carle place is a minute away from the Roosevelt Field Mall. right by Northern State (exit 31), the beginning of the Meadowbrook, and the LIE (exit 39)

I've seen this Massapequa Park house - it's Massapequa Schools. It's a nice house as well - just not right for us.

we looked the same places and even E. Massapequa... and the SD said massapequa but when we went home and did a search on the board of ed.. it said that anything west of Clocks Blvd (I think that's the street not sure) the zoning will be Amityville. You'll be lucky to find a house in Massapequa that has massapequa school zoning. Just last week, when I was looking there weren't too many listings.. maybe they updated the mls website?

There are well over 75 houses in Massapequa and Massapequa Park for sale under $500,000 with just Massapequa schools. I know because we have been searching for a house for the last 3 months. You need to select the Massapequa School district when on MLSLI, otherwise you'll get Amityville schools. I know of one house on MLSLI that has the school district improperly marked and that's because the realtor is from Queens and is just assuming.
