What size range were you looking to get? Do you want one that is powered by the USB cable, or one that gets plugged into the wall?

I'm not sure...I was looking at the HP 160GB. Since its a lap top, I want something that I can unplug easily.

There are sooooo many out there. If it is for your Laptop I would recommend one that is power via the usb so you dont have to use an external power source as well.

I got a 150gb external hard drive at Costco from ... Western Digital I think and it was about $120.

I have a 500G Seagate Free Agent. It was $42 at Microcenter. It is not too compact, but I wouldn't leave it plugged into a laptop anyway. I would just plug it in whenever I needed to backup the computer.

I got the Western Digital My passport 250gb for about 89.99 at Best Buy. (it was on sale) I think they run about 99.99 normally.
If you need something you'll be traveling with, I suggest this one. It powers up from your usb port. Its awesome.
