Red Light Camera Alert
Saw them installing them at the intersection of Larkfield Road and Jericho Turnpike in East Northport the other day!

I was at that intersection at 6am this morning.
As I approached all I could see was the flash, flash, flash of the light  I kid you not, in about 10 second they got 12-15 cars... $$$$$$$$$$$$ heading west.
It was flashing so many times it was a strobe light.

Also keep in mind when making a right on red...the camera will go off if you do not stop for 5 seconds.

OMG! I was there not too long after that and saw the same strobe light effect. Only problem it was going off while west had green and east had red, so it looked like all those headed west were getting pictures taken of them going through a green light.

they also installed them on Vets & the entrance to the airport...dont think theyre operating yet, but im sure they will be soon!

I pass that intersection daily as well, and I noticed the strobe effect. It's definitely not taking dozens of pics of cars going through red lights, since it was strobing during a green light, and it was taking like 10 pics per car.... during the day. I think it was either malfunctioning, or a car was sitting on top of the trigger, and it kept taking repeated pics. I'm sure they'll fix it soon. I didn't see it flashing over the weekend.

I was about to post that. Saw it this weekend and I was in shock. It was non stop flashing!
People are going to learn really fast!!! They work great in Nassau. People have learned the spots and they DO stop now at red lights. The number of accidents are a lot less (both from before the camera and from those who rear ended cars who stopped because they did not know of the cameras)

I slam on my brakes now at like every yellow light. Not sure how that makes us safer and I'm kinda just waiting to get rear ended...but I saw the same thing the other day when I was going south on Rt 110, right by the Southern State...(the last intersection before the SSP) the thing went off about 20 times and I'm like that light just made a grand...

I wasn't up that way all weekend.
I'll see what happens today!
Wondering if maybe it wasn't working yet.
When I posted, I saw them just installing them, so, maybe they weren't working accuratley yet!

Noticed that too. It's amazing how people will stop short to avoid running the light and getting a ticket that costs them some $$, but they won't even try to slow down when they easily could absent a camera--just to potentially save someone's life...oh yeah--and to obey the law.
