Renting Disney timeshare points - too good to be true?
I was just looking into trips for the upcoming school year. I priced out buying DVC points from www.dvcrequest.com/ and I am getting crazy low rates. $1100 for 4 nights at Polynesian and $900 for 4 nights at Bay Lake Tower. This is for a long weekend in November when my kids have off of school on a random Monday/Tuesday. For the same time frame, if you book through Disney's website, you get a standard room at Polynesian for like $2300 or double the price of the bungalow time share.
Is this too good to be true? Getting a bigger and better room for half the price of a standard regular room.
Has anyone booked rooms via renting timeshare points?

Yes - it is much cheaper to rent points than to book through Disney but you have to compare exactly what you're getting. The rooms aren't always "bigger and better"
For that price, you are probably getting a studio at Bay Lake Tower. They are slightly smaller than a regular Contemporary room with just a queen bed and a queen sized pull out sleeper sofa. The one bedrooms at Bay Lake are way bigger than a regular hotel room but still just have the king bed in the bedroom, a queen sized sofa and a twin sleeper chair in the living room.
The Poly only has studios or the bungalows. For that price, you are NOT getting a bungalow. You are getting a studio. The Poly studios are very big but again only have a queen sized bed, a queen sleeper sofa and a smaller than a twin murphy bed.
Also, this is only the hotel room price. It does not include tickets, meal plan, etc. You also do not get housekeeping daily.

Thank you for the explanation. Yes, I priced out studios. The 2 bedroom bungalow at Polynesian for the same 4 nights is $7800. It sounds like the studios are cheaper but not necessarily better rooms.
I think our club level Polynesian room cost $700+ per night the last time we went so this is a substantially cheaper.
We are expecting our 3rd child so I think the kitchen will be useful next time we go. Sounds like a studio will be too small for us even though it technically will be able to fit the 5 of us.

a studio at BLT will probably be too small.
The Poly studios are much larger and you'd probably be ok in them. The kitchen in the studios is really just a kitchenette. Small fridge, microwave, toaster, sink. In the one bedrooms, it's a full-sized completely stocked kitchen with dishwasher. One bedrooms also have washer and dryers in the units.
The studios at BLT are the smallest on property if I recall. Poly studios are the largest. The Poly studios are larger than the regular hotel rooms, just set up differently.
