Repeat C-section Girls...

Would you say your recovery was better, worse, or the same after your first c-section? Better yet, answer my poll.

Comments welcome.
Thanks girls.

Re: Repeat C-section Girls...

I answered other. My incision got infected with my 1st c-section so it took a lot longer to heal. I had to go to the dr every couple of days to make sure the infection was going away.

My 2nd c-section I had a more painful recovery, but part of that was I had a 2yo that still needed my help so I was doing more and I got awful spinal headaches and severe back pain for a couple of weeks after my c-section.

Re: Repeat C-section Girls...

My first one has horrible!! I could barely walk for almost two weeks. I was in so much pain, and the pain came on and off for months after. At one point I actually thought about noy having anymore kids because I did not want to go through that pain again. My 2nd c-section was so easy. I was up and going the next day. I am glad that I did not stop at one!

Re: Repeat C-section Girls...

I voted the first one was horrible, BUT, I had no idea what to expect with the c-section.

Plus, there were other circumstances that added to it taking forever to heal.

My second c-section was a breeze. I was out and about within a few days.

Re: Repeat C-section Girls...

My second one was much harder than my first. I had more issues with my 2nd pregnancy. My DS was huge and I had way too much fluid. My blood pressure was out of control so I had to go on Mag Sulfate before they could do the c/s. My c/s took a hour and a half to get DS out. The epidural didn't work so they but some mask over my face in the middle of surgery that made me hallucinate and think I was in a huge game of candy land pushing orange marshmallows.

In recovery they had to give me morphine x2 because I was in so much pain because according to the nurse "they had to do more cutting and pulling because DS was so big."

Once I got home I felt it took longer for the pain to fade. I kept telling DH I was never having another baby.

Yeah so my 2nd c/s was pretty awful.

Re: Repeat C-section Girls...

Hard to say...overall my first was ok...I was in a LOT of pain after for days...a LOT of pain!! It was really hard recovery wise. But once I did, I was better and done with it.

My second...the pain was MUCH less, I was walking within hours, I felt great after and recovery was easy, except my incision split open and I had awful stomach problems ( still do 11 months later) related to it....So the pain etc was better, but I have had lasting issues.

1st- I wanted to DIE. It was really bad and I swore I would never have another child. Chat Icon

2nd- FABULOUS! I was in slight pain and was able to get up that night and walk around with no trouble. Recovery was a breeze.

I had three c-sections and the recovery was all the same. I was up and about the same day.

I am so happy to read this, bc this was me after having a C/S and bc of it (among few other reasons) I am terrified of having another C/S if we have another babyChat Icon
