Retractable Awning?

Anyone own a Retractable Awning? How much did you pay for it? What are the dimensions? Did you install it yourself? What are some alternatives? We would like to have one installed but are contemplating it due to the cost.

Thanks

I was trying to remember you but could not. We are now ready to buy and wanted to see what else is available before doing so. I found this manufacture, Awntech which now sells awnings at Lowes. If I'm not mistaken Lowes use to carry NuImage awnings. The Awntech is cheaper and seems to be good quality.

Wow that seems awfully high!

With sunsetter, you have to install yourself or a handyman, but the awnings are guaranteed for 5 years. And they are great quality. You can get price quotes on the website. Anywhere from 800-1700 apx.

That is a little high. This must include installation.

Sunsetter is the lower end of them all in terms of quailty so I'm told by mutiple manufactures, other forum replies etc.

They are sooooo expensive. We got a ridiculous quote of 5K for one for our yard. Needless to say, that aint happening.

Re: Retractable Awning?

My brother got one and loves it. His is manual. So my parents bought one. They hardly ever unrolled it because my mom is too little and my dad could care less if the sun is in his eyes. My mom decided to have a sun room built on the house so she gave it to my brother, so now he has two.

So between the two of them, they have been installed three times. I helped my dad with his the first time(I am in in construction so it was very easy for me).

Both are sunsetters and I have no idea of the price.

The website quotes prices based on sizes. Like I said, ours is over 3 years old already, been installed twice (had siding done in between) and still is as good as the day I bought it. I would never have spent 3000 or more on an awning.

Re: Retractable Awning?

My inlaws were looking into getting the retractable awning and finally decided to get an aluminum awning. It has 4 aluminum poles holding it up and aluminum roof. It is a permanent structure. I think it was around $3000 and it looks like a florida room with no walls....Its nice.
