Has anyone heard about these psychos who want to stop quarantining? I got an FB invite to a protest in Garden City on the 22nd, saying they are looking for people to make signs about our constitutional rights.
Is this real?

Why would they be denied hospital coverage. Our great leader thinks it's perfectly acceptable what they are doing.
I know. But he also doesn't believe we have that many sick so his followers can call him for the ventalators when they need them.

No, they are not behaving this way. You know why? Because we are supposed to stay the f home. If there were a rise up meeting, the police would shut that down because there is a 25,000 Euro fine per person for violating the rules during quarantine. Normally the right to protest is taken very seriously here (they don’t deny it because of what happened in the 30s), police are called in to stop others from stopping the protest, and streets are blocked off so the protest can take place. Not this time. We are in a pandemic.
I know in Italy there were prison riots and protests because they weren’t allowed to see family anymore, but that’s it.
People are staying put. Stay home, stay healthy. That’s the motto here.

Yes, but the difference is they are also protesting Netanyahu, who sucks as a PM. The people in the US are protesting against their rights being taken away by governors and the President is egging them on. Big difference.

I don’t think one can answer that.
If people were protesting Trump and how he handled this whole thing, then I might think differently. But I sure as hell would not go into a crowd right now. But Trump is saying “liberate (insert state here)” on his Twitter. Like WTF? Does he want another Civil War?
Also Israel’s numbers are OK for now. It will probably get worse, but they don’t see that yet. The US has the worst numbers in the world. They see it and are still out there protesting.

We went for a drive to Manhattan yesterday. Didn’t get out of the car, just drove around with the windows up. Can I tell you, a good 50% of people weren’t wearing masks!!! And I don’t mean the homeless or people who looked like they couldn’t afford a face covering, I’m talking about people who appeared to be well off and not just young kids who think they’re invincible. I was really taken aback at how many people seemed to be not at all concerned about walking the streets of Manhattan with no mask. Not to mention, the parks were still packed. I really couldn’t believe it.

Maybe it’s a good sign? #s are going down in NY and if they are out there without any covers and #s stay down, might be a good indication that this really is on its way out (god I hope so)
Personally, I wear a mask in public when I know there will be people around. To walk my dog, I bring one with me Incase but I don’t wear it in general. But if I were in NYC where you can’t escape being right next to people, i sure as shit would have one on

The protesters are disgusting. Because when THEY get sick, they will EXPECT to be tended to by first responder heros. Who risk THEIR lives.
And when they shop and walk around, they infect others and perpetuate the death and terror. It is sickening.
Hero nurses blocking the protests. So they can run back in and save lives. Unfathomable-as someone said.
Are we sure that this selfish, carzy sentiment wasn't fomented by foreign, interfering bots who WANT to see us implode as a nation? Because trolls couldn't have weaponized the most selfish and ignorant in society to destroy us any more effectively.

Who’s to say that those protesting are not ppl that are truly struggling to survive with no money coming in?? Families that are having a really hard time with putting food on the table for their kids, for their parents, etc?? A lot of ppl live paycheck to paycheck here in NY. Who’s gonna stick out for them but themselves, I’m sure they’d much prefer staying home worrying about what new recipe to try instead of advocating for themselves so they can finally go back to work, and earn money to take care of their family. Please stop with the judgement and worry about urself (general u). The numbers are not increasing anymore even though I still see ppl going out without wearing a mask/gloves, I mean if it was that important then why these ******* politicians are not wearing masks and practicing social distancing?? Did u see the latest pic Cuomo posted about his family dinner with one of his daughters’ boyfriend? Ugh the hypocrisy is insane and don’t even get me started with ppl calling the police on each other! Truly insane!

The whole point is exactly what you wrote, most of us are not worrying just about ourselves, we are worrying for the collective us. The protestors are worrying about themselves and not thinking about the other people who can get hurt or die. It is selfish. Yes I get people need to get back to work. Yes it sucks and people will be financial trouble for a while, but I'd rather be in financial trouble than be dead. Families got a pretty good stimulus check and extra in unemployement which is giving many people more than what they made regularly. Mortgages a can be delayed, Rent can be delayed, alot of credit card companies are working with people on payments. It's time for communities to pull together and help those out who are really struggling not say FU and got out and potential infect more people.
