Robin bird nest question

We had a Robin bird nest on a shrub on our front porch. ( I originally thought it was an Oriole nest, but realized today it was a Robin) We saw the bird make the nest, had four blue eggs and after 12 days of this, last night after coming home saw one hatched and another was about to hatch. We were so excited being able to watch this so up close from our porch. Just seeing the one little bird last night was so unbelievable. I only saw one hatched and the three other eggs were in there with one other one that looked like it was about to hatch. Well, this morning I get up and go out and the nest is totally empty. Chat Icon I was so devastated, as I was enjoying watching this. I don't think anything got to it, but does anyone have knowledge as to what happened? Could the mother bird have brought the babies to another nest last night? I am so stunned. I did tons of research online today on it and find nothing on this subject of the newborn nest just becoming empty.

We had a family of them in our front bush also last year. It was never suddenly empty like that though. Are you sure an animal didn't get to it?

I hope an animal didn't get it. The mother bird was there with her eggs for 12 days and was okay there. I cannot find anything on this on the internet. It would kill me if an animal got it. We saw the nest with one hatched and three other eggs at 8:00 last night and 8:30 this morning it was totally empty. I feel so sad and am so curious to know what happened.

awwww so sad!!

We had some sad bird happenings here too today. There must be a nest way up on our house, because we opened the back door and there was a dead baby bird on our porch. Chat Icon

Hours later, another one. Chat Icon
