rock n play so many options, help f/u???
Im just now looking at baby gift options for my friend. The rock n play has a price range bc of different options?? Are they all basically the same. Some don't vibrate. Is the vibration helpful??
edit :to what age can the baby stay in it, from birth to??
is this only used for short term

We got the snugabunny one that vibrates. It seemed more cushy and comfortable than the cheaper version.

I registered for this one for my shower. My friend who recently had a baby has it and loves it. It can play music, vibrates, and auto-rocks itself. Safari Dreams Deluxe Rocker

This is the one we purchased-
http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Newborn-Rock-Sleeper-Yellow/dp/B002M77N22
My son loved it and i plan on using it again for my daughter.
For vibration, we used- http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009UPUFCY/ref=pd_aw_fbt__ba_img_2?refRID=1JDW3E68P4A7YZBG8JHD
We liked that it was portable and could be used wherever we wanted.
We did purchase a vibrating bouncer for my son but i remember it dying out extremely quickly.
I wouldn't say having a vibrating option was helpful as the baby could get overly used to be soothed this way. Then when you try to sooth naturally, it's even more difficult.

Rockn play is the best ever. I had a bassinet and many other options but the rock n play was best for my first baby who had reflux. it's cozy and snuggles them and also they can eventually rock themselves to sleep by moving their body weight- doesnt rely on batteries. super easy to fold up. GL!

We had the one that vibrates and I think that was a great feature. I also recommend any of the fur ones snugabunny, puppy, monkey etc vs just the material ones. We got a 2nd one for my moms house that is just the material and I found it to make the baby much sweatier.

thank you everyone.
I spoke to my friend and she has bought nothing so far just what people have given her, mostly bc they don't believe in buying before the baby is born. I do know the baby will be sleeping in her room for many months.

We got the snug a puppy one. The vibrate option for me was a definite. I would prefer the plain ones though. Not all parts of the puppy come out and are easily washable.

We had the bunny one. We never used the vibration on any of the toys b/c the girls didn't sleep any better or worse with it.

BUMP F/U ??
Dd slept in hers for 7 weeks until we put her in the crib at night. Continued using it for a few more months, but once they start rolling they can roll out of it and fall out. We were def done by 6 months and that was pushing it. There is a strap to buckle them in, but it's not a long term thing.

The weight limit on it is 25 pounds. My DS occasionally napped in it until 9 months. He was always strapped in and was not really a roller til then.

We didn't have the vibrating one but at my parents house we did. LO didn't like the vibrating one but LO's never been into the vibrating option on anything. We used it until about 5 months with LO but slept in it for bedtime until 7 weeks then went into the crib. When they start sitting up in it, that was the time to put it away.
